And Another Chapter Begins!

{Friday night at Sky Harbor Airport}

"Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation to those who will repent and believe on his name. Now, if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation..." (Alma 26:35-26, The Book of Mormon)

Well, this is Emily! I just returned from a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in northern Italy. I served for 18 months, and it was the most extraordinary 18 months of my entire life. I can't put into words the joy I felt as I felt myself put my heart and soul one hundred percent into the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And now I'm home! My mission has come to a close, and sometimes that feels kind of sad. It mostly feels a little empty and aimless just because I have a lot of decisions still to make as far as school and work go, but when I think of the close of my mission as just the end of a chapter getting ready to begin another, it helps me to see that there are bright, amazing things ahead in life to still be lived. I am excited to see what I can make of this new chapter, and I am going to do my best to journal it all here on this little blog.

To new chapters!
